FAQ

Switching questions

How do I switch restaurant POS systems without closing?

Import the menu during the week, set up staff and printers in the evenings, train on a quiet shift, and go live on a slow morning. You never need to close; many owners run the old and new system side by side for a day.

How much does switching cost?

The menu import and migration help are free ($0). Your only possible cost is new tablets if your current terminals are locked to your old provider.

What can be imported?

Products/menu items with categories, prices, variations and taxes; modifiers and combos (mapped by us); customers with contact details and loyalty balances; suppliers; opening stock per location.

Can I import my sales history?

Not as live transactions. Keep your old reports and exports for records and comparisons; reporting in GetDinerPOS starts from your first sale.

Which POS systems can I switch from?

Any that can export CSV or Excel: Toast, Square, Clover, Lightspeed, TouchBistro, Foodics, local Pakistani systems, or a spreadsheet you keep yourself.

Can I reuse my hardware?

Tablets, PCs, ESC/POS printers, cash drawers and USB scanners usually work. Terminals locked to a vendor (Toast, Clover, Square readers) do not.

What about my card processor?

Keep it. GetDinerPOS works with your processor and terminal.

How long does a chain switch take?

About a week of evenings for 3–5 locations; longer if you also add recipes and opening stock everywhere.

What if something goes wrong on day one?

We are on WhatsApp and phone during your go-live window. Book it with us so someone is watching.
